I understand your concern about your car seat. The first thing to ensure is that the harness is correctly adjusted for your daughter/son’s height, this should make it as difficult as possible for her/him to wriggle out of the harness. Second, I recommend that you check out http://www.childcarseats.org.uk/choosing/children_undoing_belts.htm which has been developed specially by RoSPA, the governments Think! Road Safety campaign and the UK Child Car Seat Organisation and which offers handy hints and tips for how to dissuade your child from trying to get out of the car seat harness.

In the UK and Europe, our legislation asked for a one click release system, so that in an emergency you can get your child out as quickly and safely as possible. Car seats are tested under guidelines to ensure the harness and buckle work properly and keep the child restrained but sometimes a child may have very flexible joints and can squeeze their arms out of the harness straps.

The 5 Point Plus System does appear to allow a one click release and would still allow you to get your child out safely however Maxi-Cosi have not tested this with our products therefore we cannot say for sure that it will work alongside our car seat harness.

Of course, if you would like your ***** checked over by one of our qualified engineers to ensure that it is in full working order and performing as it should be, then please return to your retailer with your proof of purchase if/as the seat is less than 2 years old, and ask them to make arrangements for a full inspection to be provided, plus any repair work necessary, under the terms and conditions of the warranty.

I hope this information helps.
